Visit Suggestions

What would you like to do?

For prospective students and their families, we offer a choice of activities:

Take a Van Tour

Enjoy a 45-minute guided tour of campus, conducted entirely in our air-conditioned tour van by a student University Ambassador. This tour provides all of the information provided on the walking tour, but in half the time.

Take a Walking Tour

A student University Ambassador conducts a 90-minute guided outdoor tour of campus. (You’re welcome to visit classroom buildings, libraries and other facilities at your leisure after the tour.) Please wear comfortable shoes, dress with our unpredictable Florida weather in mind, and expect some sloping terrain on your tour. Walking tours may be cancelled in case of severe weather.

Attend an Admission Information Session

A great way to learn all about admission to FSU. An FSU Admission officer conducts this 45-minute answer-packed session covering the application process, admission requirements and more. Available to all prospective students and families but especially valuable for high school juniors and their parents.

Visit a Residence Hall

Our driving tour of campus includes an exterior look at each undergraduate residence hall and information about floor plans, special programs and more... but a closer look is also available most afternoons during regular academic terms.

Want to see and do as much as possible?

Visit on a weekday when Fall, Spring, or Summer classes are in session:

Summer 2007May 9 to June 15, or June 25 to August 3
Fall 2007August 27 to December 7
Spring 2008January 7 to March 7, or March 17 to April 18
(Spring Break 2008 is March 10–14.)
Summer 2008May 12 to June 20, or June 30 to August 8
Fall 2008August 25 to December 5

Some visit activities are unavailable during semester breaks, final exam weeks, or Spring Break, and most University offices are closed on weekends. Visit activities may also be limited due to special campus events.

The best time to see FSU is when classes are in session, residence halls are open, and all of our faculty, staff, and students are available to answer your questions.
